Submitting your sitemap to Google Search Console (GSC) is an important step in getting your Suburb Stack pages indexed quickly. A sitemap tells Google exactly where to find all of your pages so they can appear in search results faster.
If you’re using Suburb Stack, your sitemap is automatically generated and updated as you add more suburb-specific service pages.
Step 1: Sign In to Google Search Console
Go to Google Search Console and log in with your Google account.
Step 2: Select Your Website Property
In the left-hand dropdown, choose the domain property you’ve connected to Google Search Console.
If you haven’t added your website yet, click “Add Property” and verify it first.
Step 3: Go to the Sitemaps Section
From the left-hand menu, click on “Sitemaps” under the Indexing section.
Step 4: Enter Your Sitemap URL
In the Add a new sitemap field:
Enter your sitemap URL. For Suburb Stack users, this will usually be:
yourwebsite.com/localseo-sitemap.xml
Click Submit.
Step 5: Confirm Submission
Once submitted, Google will show your sitemap in the list below.
The Status should show as “Success” once Google has processed it.
If it shows an error, double-check the URL and that the sitemap is accessible in your browser.
Step 6: Monitor Your Indexing
After submitting, Google will start crawling your pages. You can monitor progress by:
Checking the Pages report in GSC under Indexing.
Looking for “Indexed” status on your URLs.
